Katie and I were on our own in the morning, Jake had to work.

So we cleaned up the kitchen a bit and did some laundry and than we went outside. Where we remained for most of the rest of the day.

Jake's parents got her a sand and water table for her 2nd birthday, so we played with that A LOT.

And with the hopes that it would get a little warmer, we filled her nifty 2 section, w/a slide and sprinkler wading pool.

Which she promptly got in fully dressed.

Jake was home in time for lunch, which would have been nice outside, as we had just cleaned off the back deck, again. But the little missy was getting very sleepy, so we quick had a sandwich and all took a 2 hour nap!

The late afternoon was spent in the pool(which was freezing, but Katie and I insisted, she loves the "wadder") and grilling really awesome burgers (with the cheese and bacon in them already) for dinner.

We met Andy and Nikki for the fireworks and got to see their brand new house they just closed on. It was beautiful!

We were worried Katie would be scared of the fireworks, but she LOVED them! She babbled on and on about "Ooo, pretty, ooo, more!" And trying to guess the colors, until the finale when she wen't into a mini coma of Awe as she stared at the explosion after explosion of bright sparkly.

She fell asleep and we drank really good champagne on Andy and Nikki's front porch until it was time to go home. And before we went to sleep Jake and I even found sometime to ourselves; hint hint nudge nudge!

A few weeks ago Katie pushed my nose with her little finger and said "Beep!".

A couple days ago, she got caught doing something she wasn't supposed to, and to cover up, quickly said "Hug me!", holding out her little arms.

Yesterday, she was at school and there was country music on, and she yelled out "Yee-haw!"

She isn't learning these things at home! Where is she picking this stuff up???

Scratch that, I'm an idiot.

My apologies to my friends w/o kids... but trust me, you have tons more chances to party than us parents, so we are taking one for ourselves! Plus we want to talk about diaper genie, colic, nap times, and potty training w/o having people look at us weird!

You all know I read fanfiction... a lot of fanfiction, right?

Well based on where my fandoms are located in their "realities", the almost always take place in locations I have never been to before.

Mostly sunny California and Britain.

And in the odd AU where they are in a city I have been too, it's always a big city where I don't know every nook and cranny to be able to visualize exactly where they are, like Vegas or NYC, or Philly or Boston. Unless of course it's the Statue of Liberty or the Mirage or something anyone would recognize.

But today I started a fanfiction that took place in a small Pennsylvania town I have visited enough times to picture the store they are walking into when the describe the clothes in the window. To remember what was on the menu at the outdoor bar at the end of the block. To wonder if the parking lot they left their car in was the same one I parked in last time I was there.

It was a little weird!

But it also made me want to go visit there again in hopes of seeing that particular red head and his buddy walking down the street!

I can't believe I watched that HORRIBLE show for 4 years and THAT was the ending???

But Mikey was way to pretty for that kind of ending :(

Tomorrow morning at 6:30 am I board a plane to the US Virgin Islands.

We were asking Katie what different animals says. It's a game we play a lot.

According to Katie a:

Cat says "meow".
Dog says "Ruffruff".
Lion says "ROAR"!
Cow says "Boo." (close enough)
Horse says "Nay."
Rooster says "Cocodo!"

And when asked what Katie says, she said "Elmo!" (her favorite thing ever.)

But best of all when asked what Mommy says, she said "NO!"

I'm still laughing :)

I need a Last Will and Testament.

Should be pretty easy. As I really don't have anything. Just some jewelry and a house and my scrapbooks.

There's only one hard part.

I need to name someone as my daughter's guardian if God forbid, anything ever happened to both Jacob and I.

How in the hell do you choose someone to have that awesome responsibility?

With the exception of my parents and Jacob's parents, I don't think there is anyone who I trust enough.

And I'm sure that the right answer appears to be Jacob's sister and her husband... But I swear that just doesn't sit right with me. Actually, it makes me a bit nauseated in that nerve kinda way. We are complete opposites when it comes to parenting. I don't approve of some of the things they do and they would never do some of the things we do. I think my Katie's free spirit would be squased raised in that household. I almost hate the idea.

But than who? My brother and his girlfriend?

They're her Godparents, but they don't even want kids.

Hardest. Decision. Ever.

I started a Yahoo group for Moms.

Specifically for moms like myself who used to be totally social and now are adapting to a life at home. And who have more friends without the kids than friends with.

I send out a few emails invites to moms who I knew the email address of who I thought might be interested.

I love Anoop. Wish Danny didn't have a sob story so I could hate him. Wonder if Adam really is gay and what my coworkers 16 year old daughter is going to say if it come out, and thing Allison will win.

Did anyone else watch RuPaul's Drag Race?

I ask, because two things that always happen when I am watching a reality show, didn't happen for this show.

1. I didn't agree at ALL with the winner. Bebe Zahara Benet? Boring! Nina Flowers totally should have won. And if not her, Ongina should have won! I NEVER would have thought Bebe was going to be the winner.

and

2. I totally didn't notice that Rebecca Glasscock was so bitchy and wrong! I loved her! She was my absolute favorite through out the entire show.

Was I just off my game for this show? Did everyone else see Bebe as the winner and Rebecca as the show's bad guy?

Missing Rebecca as anything but awesome, may have been attributed to the fact that I not only found her gorgeous:



But found Xavier attractive as well:

What can I say? My gun control, abortion, and death penalty policies always keep me from being 100% liberal.

But my weekend turned out to be wonderful.

My best friend from high school came to visit on Saturday, bringing her new boyfriend, who just happens to have been one of my best friends from high school. I never would have thought of him as boyfriend material for her, but now that they are together, I am beyond THRILLED. Everyone keep their fingers firmly crossed that this works out!

Well, we went wine tasting yesterday with 3 other couples from this area and we hit 3 wineries, it was great. I bought 8 bottles!

Than we went back to our house and ate pizza and drank. It was so nice!

And this morning we had bagels and planned what we wanted to do when the 4 of us go away in May. It rocked.

I would say I was crazy happy right now, however, unfortunately Katie is now sick. Poor baby girl!
